The cost of living in Indiana is 9% below the national average, meaning that your dollar will go much further when you are buying a home or even a cart of groceries. Indiana also has a lower state income tax than many other states, at just 3.23%. Furthermore, property taxes in Illinois are nearly triple those in Indiana! This entices many families to move from Illinois to Indiana for a better quality of life. I guess the saying holds true when it comes to these two states, “the grass really is greener on the other side.”

Families that move to Indiana will be thrilled to hear that is has some of the best schools in the Midwest. In fact, more than 200 schools in Indiana have received a Four Star rating in recent years.
